Pretty as a picture
Are you looking for an adapted holiday home or trip? Picture Vakanties has put together holiday offers for people with a physical, mental or psychological disability and/or chronic illness.
Most information provided concerns offers in the Netherlands, but if you want to go elsewhere on holiday, you will find some good ideas here. The authors speak from experience (professional or personal). The website, www.picturevakanties.nl, is available in Dutch.

Breda
The Bredaas Centrum Gehandicapten Beleid (Breda Centre for Policy on the Disabled) gathers information on the accessibility if tourist and other buildings in Breda and (wide) surroundings. The results can be found in a well organised databank on the website www.toegankelijkbreda.nl. Not only wheelchair users but also visitors with a visual or auditive disability and people with cara (chronic pulmonary disease) can find useful addresses here. The symbols used offer scope for nuance.  You can also see clearly which information was verified and which information was based on explanations given by third parties. And if you look a bit further, you can find even more useful information, such as an overview of national and international basic accessibility regulations and a practical checklist to assess the accessibility of buildings. The information is available in Dutch.

Toegankelijk Nederland
Flanders and the Netherlands have set up a joint research project. The idea is to inspect all buildings accessible to the public in general and to map their accessibility. The information for the Netherlands will be gathered in a database on www.toegankelijknederland.nl. In addition to objective measuring results the site also contains a section for personal remarks by users.
Available in Dutch.
